The Luck Of The Irish Will Be Gracing The 16th Annual Waldorf EGGfest!
What is an EGGfest?
An EGGfest® is a gathering of Big Green Egg fans and enthusiasts where many experienced Egg cooks showcase their skills and talents. It’s the perfect place for those interested in owning a Big Green Egg to sample the amazing food coming off of the Eggs and to learn all the different cooking possibilities. It’s a lot of fun and usually feels like a big tail gate party.
Why attend an EGGfest?
Imagine a day-long festival with hundreds of people gathered in a smoke-filled parking lot sharing the love, passing the food and enjoying the party-like atmosphere. Sound like fun? It’s an EGGfest®! The volunteer cooks feed their hungry compatriots all for the pure love of cooking on an Egg. Who better to talk to than someone who’s cooking on the actual grill?
Where is the Waldorf EGGfest located?
EGGfest® 2015 will take place at Tri-County Hearth & Patio Center located at:
2475 Old Washington Road
Waldorf, MD 20601
Parking will be available next door at the Ford Dealership and attendants will be on site to direct traffic and help Cooks unload. Parking at the store is reserved for handicap patrons and loading and unloading only.

What does the fee cover?
Your registration fee includes a goodie bag and liquid refreshments (including beer, soda and water). Free Parking. Kids under 12 get in free! For a list of registration fees, please click here.
The overwhelming success of the Iron Egg Chef Competition has secured its return in 2015. This year we will also bring back the coveted Golden Egg as a prize for the team that wins the most overall points during our competitions.
This year’s contests will include:
- Iron Egg Mystery Bag Contest
- Best Site Contest
- Best Costumes Contest
- Best Theme Dish (Irish Theme)
- Best Theme Cocktail (Irish Theme)
- Best Shepherd’s Pie
- Taster’s Choice
This year everyone that attends EGGfest® will be receiving a cutlery set in their goodie bag, so no need to worry about providing forks, knives or spoons.
The event is open to the public at 10:00 AM, however, we ask that Cooks arrive at 8:00 AM to set up their cooking space and unload their vehicles.
Items to bring:
- pop-up canopy
- food (for cooking)
- cooking utensils & cutting boards
- plate setter & EGG-cessories
- mitts & serving utensils
There are a limited number of tables and chairs available to Cooks; these are available on a first come first serve basis and cannot be held.
Cook Tickets: $10
Cooks will receive a 20% discount on any purchases made in our store as well as a goodie bag.
What is a “Taster”?
A Taster will spend their day sampling different foods from all of our BGE Cooks. We will provide soda, water, and of course, beer; all you need to do is come hungry & thirsty!
As a Taster, you’ll get the unique opportunity to judge the Cooks’ recipes and will be issued a string of beads to present to the Cook that impresses you the most. The Cook with the most beads at the end of the day will win the Taster’s Choice award!
Tasters should arrive no earlier than 10:00 AM, as our Cooks will still be setting up prior. We will have some seating available but recommend that you bring your own chairs in case we run out. You will want to take a time-out from all of the delicious food from time to time to relax and enjoy the good music.
As always, all Taster’s tickets include a goodie bag, but tickets must be pre-purchased. Tasters who purchase tickets at the door will not be guaranteed a goodie bag.

Tasters also receive a raffle ticket for one of our many door prizes!
Want a great discount on a Big Green Egg? Get a “used one time” Demo Egg at the Waldorf EGGfest®! All Demo Eggs are used on the day of EGGfest® only and carry the full Big Green Egg warranty. Demo Eggs include a nest and are available in Large & X-Large only. These Eggs are significantly discounted and pre-sold prior to EGGfest® either in our store or online through EventBrite.

All Demo Eggs will be shut down by Cooks at 3:00 PM and must be picked up the day of EGGfest®. Pickup starts at 4:30 PM.
